The UHS model fosters a collaborative relationship between physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners.
Performs other duties as assigned Other considerations: If a physician chooses to become involved in research activities or publications, this activity must be consistent with University policies. Malpractice insurance is provided by the University for any Professional Activity done within the UHS scope of practice.
The University malpractice does not extend to activities that are not within this scope, such as private practice. The University has designated spokespersons. Any communications with the media, the public, or the general student body must be consistent with University policy.
Though at present UHS does not have evening appointment hours, UHS leadership reserves the option after proper notification to institute evening hour appointments with coverage by a staff physician. Be assigned, in rotation, some nights and weekends on call.
During the academic year this takes the form of on-site and phone coverage. During the non-academic year this will usually takes the form of administrative call by phone with rare on-site responsibilities.
Computer literacy and ability to develop maintain and update the computer skills required to fully utilize the Occupational Health Manager and Medicat computer management programs.
